Lemuel Familia – a role model for #NatureForAll

A graduate of a biology program aged 30, Lemuel Familia works for the Dominican Republic Ministry of the Environment in the ecosystem division area.

The Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources is the entity in charge of developing, implementing and overseeing national policies on the environment and natural resources, in order to promote and stimulate conservation, protection and restoration activities and sustainability.

At a young age, Lemuel discovered that practice was more important than theory, and the conclusion he reached as a result was incorporated into his work, due to the opportunity he had to get to know his entire country. However, he realizes that the basis of the structure of conservation are public policies, knowing his country, putting into practice technical issues that enable him to be the spokesperson of young people in his country, and creating initiatives to preserve natural capital.

Despite the environmental challenges he encounters, Lemuel is very optimistic and acknowledges that he needs to work for his country, for his planet, and be a vehicle for change.

Lemuel is a role model for #NatureForAll, a global movement whose mission is to inspire love for nature.
