World Pangolin Day 2025 was celebrated across four districts in Nepal, reaching over 450 participants in the districts of Sunsari, Jhapa, Morang, and Khotang.
Through activities like presentations, drawing competitions, and essay writing, we shared information about pangolins, their importance to the ecosystem, and the challenges they face.
Every year, we celebrate World Pangolin Day on the third Saturday of February. This day is dedicated to increase awareness about pangolin, the world’s most trafficked mammals.
This year’s theme, “Youth Legacy for Pangolin Conservation,” highlighted the importance of youth involvement and stewardship in the species’ conservation.
Poaching, illegal trade and habitat loss pose a significant threat to pangolins, leading to its global decline in the wild. World Pangolin Day aims to spread awareness about pangolin and their conservation need.
Through educational initiatives and other interactive activities, the day celebration aimed to promote youth participation in species conservation.
We hope it sparked curiosity and awareness among the participants. The involvement of schools, volunteers, and partner organizations showed the power of coming together for a shared cause. We are grateful for everyone who contributed to making this celebration possible.
