data-block-type=\"2\">\n<div class=\"sqs-block-content\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.natureforall.global\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#NatureForAll<\/a>\u00a0was officially launched in September with much\u00a0<em>excitement<\/em>\u00a0at the International Union for Conservation\u2019s (IUCN)\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iucnworldconservationcongress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Conservation Congress<\/a>(#IUCNCONGRESS) in Hawai\u02bbi. \u00a0With overwhelming support for motion 093 \u201cConnecting People with Nature Globally\u201d from both governmental and nongovernmental IUCN members, as well as the inclusion of a new target in the IUCN Programme 2017-2020, #NatureForAll is set to be an important new area of work for the IUCN.\u00a0 And, with a growing list of over\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.natureforall.global\/partners-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">120 partners<\/a>\u00a0who are now part of the #NatureForAll coalition, it is well on its way to being a force for transformational change!<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the week-long launch included:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0An inspirational opening ceremony featuring a moving speech and toast by IUCN Goodwill Ambassador and \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/alisonsudol.com\/\">Alison Sudol,<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The launch of an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dxMO23v-NQ0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">awe-inspiring new video<\/a>\u00a0during the IUCN Members\u2019 Assembly<\/li>\n<li>A day-long\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portals.iucn.org\/congress\/session\/10206\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conservation campus training session<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0that highlighted the actions \u00a0people can take to initiate or scale up their own #NatureForAll Programmes.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5791c8fbb8a79b0d3e94091d\/t\/57c90026d2b857f7d41c1852\/1472790574380\/160725A_Journey_NFA_ENG_Final_RAN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#IUCNCONGRESS journey<\/a>\u00a0featuring numerous workshops, Knowledge Caf\u00e9s, and other events that provided opportunities for #IUCNCONGRESS participants to showcase their work and discuss ways to take current best practices and innovative solutions to greater impact and scale.<\/li>\n<li>A #NatureForAll\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/natureforall.global\/photos\/?tab=album&amp;album_id=1133763423380130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pavilion<\/a>, a hub of activity where hundreds of participants gathered daily.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>#NatureForall Pavilion Highlights:<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the support of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pc.gc.ca\/eng\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parks Canada<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Canadian Wildlife Federation<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nature.ca\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Canadian Museum of Nature<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vulcanproductions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vulcan Productions<\/a>, the pavilion hosted more than 50 performances, workshops, professional development sessions<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks-parcs.ca\/english\/nature-playbook.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">, launches<\/a>\u00a0, awards, and social events that provided a space for participants to reflect on content, share experiences, identify collaborative opportunities, build their networks, and celebrate their efforts to connect people with nature.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sessions led by #NatureForAll partners like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/earth\/outreach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Earth Outreach<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waza.org\/en\/site\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/studentsonice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Students on Ice<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks-parcs.ca\/english\/nature-playbook.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Canadian Parks Council<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the US National Park Service<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/parkweb.vic.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parks Victoria<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New South Wales Parks and Wildlife Service<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"\/Users\/tomasz%20wierchioch\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/notesD03AE1\/coalitionwild.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CoalitionWILD<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/brandwein.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandwein Institute<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mediaimpact.org\/production\/guardians-of-the-mist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guardians of the Mist<\/a>\u00a0Guardians of the mist? other big ones we should mention? \u00a0inspired participants about the actions we can all take to advance #NatureForAll globally.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cFireside Chats&#8221;, a Parks Canada-led air brush tattoo station, a Great Elephant Census installation, and a multi-media studio were wonderful opportunities for participants to engage informally with each other, explore new technologies, discuss the evolution of #NatureForAll, and work on collaborative film and music projects with the likes of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bababrinkman.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baba Brinkman<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature-rx.org\/creators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin Bogardus<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Each evening was a party, modelled on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nature.ca\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Canadian Museum of Nature<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nature.ca\/en\/plan-your-visit\/nature-nocturne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nature Nocturne<\/a>\u00a0drew in scores of Congress participants, and even animal mascots, to dance and share the joy of experiencing nature.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0Led by local partner\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kupuhawaii.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kupu<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0, the final day at the Pavilion saw 900 students from different islands in Hawai\u02bbi experience the Congress, reminding us the vital role that \u00a0#NatureForAll in inspiring the next generation to fall in love with nature!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c\u201cFrom Alison Sudol to dancers to inquisitive children to media moguls, #NatureForAll offered a vibrant energy with the strong reminder that people are part of nature. It\u2019s a reminder of how important it is to reconnect people to nature \u2013 no matter the method.\u201d &#8211; Former CEC Chair Nancy Colleton.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>#NatureForAll Fireside Chats engaged the diverse #IUCNCongress audience with thoughtful, constructive, and inspiring conversations about the direction of #NatureForAll.<\/p>\n<p>#NatureForAll is founded on a simple idea: the more people experience, connect with, and share their love for nature, the more support there will be for its conservation in the future. The IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) and World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) conceived and implemented the movement.<\/p>\n<p>It is an inclusive movement to build a coalition of partners across sectors to connect people and nature, with three main goals:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Raise awareness and motivate people from all walks of life to embrace nature and its values<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate opportunities for all to experience and connect with nature<\/li>\n<li>Create transformational moments and pathways that become lifelong personal connections and commitments to conservation action<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#NatureForAll was officially launched in September with much excitement at the International Union for Conservation\u2019s (IUCN) World Conservation Congress(#IUCNCONGRESS) in Hawai\u02bbi.
