Bringing the Waste-Free Crew to American Family Field

Thanks to funding by SC Johnson, A Family Company as part of its vision for a waste-free world, together we had the pleasure of hosting nearly 400 students at the inaugural Waste-Free Crew celebration event at American Family Field alongside the Milwaukee Brewers (TM). Seeing the excitement on the students’ faces as they learned how to develop better habits to reduce their waste was truly something special.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the incredible community partners in the greater Milwaukee community who hosted stations for the students to interact with, like: Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network, WasteCap Resource Solutions, Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Plastic Free MKE, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences, Wehr Nature Center, Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB), Riveredge Nature Center, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District – MMSD, Alice’s Garden Urban Farm, Reflo – Sustainable Water Solutions, Friends of Lakeshore State Park, Urban Ecology Center, Riverside Park, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, and Compost Crusader.
We wish to extend a huge “thank you!” to everyone who was involved with the Waste-Free Crew classroom materials. We look forward to continuing this waste management education journey.
