During the month of February, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, hosted pop ups and workshops to allow visitors to get closer to nature in their everyday lives.
One workshop focused on producing wildflower seedpaper, allowing visitors to take away not just a memento of the day in the paper that they made but also a message of cultivating biodiversity in their own green spaces.
These events are some of the activities Alex and Kaitlyn, the Zoo’s education manager and marketing executive, run as part of its Fab Feb Fun Half-Term activities.
“It is through such activities that we promote the Welsh Mountain Zoo’s vision of a world where animals and their habitats are appreciated, understood and conserved,” said Kaitlyn.
