Based in Tanzania, Najma Omary is a young environmentalist from Tanzania. She shared her #NatureLoveStory as part of the #NatureForAll Storytelling Festival!
I am a young environmentalist from Tanzania. I have actively participated in the WWF funded BMZ 1 project having TNRF as partners, through that I got experience in skills of wildlife monitoring and Open Data Kit (ODK) application and operation using camera traps, by which the system was installed in three Wildlife Management Areas (Makao, Enduimet, and Ikona WMA’s) that was useful in the Lion project to monitor Human-Lion conflicts.
Through the work as technical personnel working on Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) I have been involved in using camera traps and data downloading for monitoring and management of the wildlife where I participated in setting camera traps and downloading data in Makao, Enduimet, and Ikona WMA’s.
