I`m an environmental conservationist deeply committed to conserving biodiversity and empowering communities through sustainable practices.
I’m the lead Eco Jipe Program, Kenya, a conservation Collaboration initiative of the WILD Foundation and myself under CoalitionWILD ecollab.
My work primarily revolves around Lake Jipe in Taita Taveta County, Kenya, where I focus on protecting endangered species, especially the Jipe Tilapia and the African savannah elephant, while addressing the needs of the local community.
Our work in Kenya focuses on helping the Jipe community realise the connection with nature and spearhead conservation of the Jipe ecosystem which is home to the endangered Jipe Tilapia and an important dry season refuge for wildlife.
The program integrates conservation with community development. We’re working to enhance food security through permaculture gardens, enhance restoration efforts, reduce land degradation, reduce human-wildlife conflict, and promote sustainable fishing practices. By blending indigenous knowledge with scientific evidence, we aim to create lasting solutions that benefit both the environment and the people who depend on it. This project reflects my passion for nature and my belief that true conservation success comes from empowering local communities to be the stewards of their environment.
