A Journey of Connection with Wild Spaces – David Oseko’s #LoveNature story

My name is David Oseko, founder of Greenmade and a passionate conservationist with a deep love for nature. My connection with the environment runs deep, rooted in the beauty of wild spaces and the intricate balance of ecosystems. From the rolling savannahs of the Maasai Mara to the forests and coastlines of Kenya, I see nature as both a sanctuary and a source of inspiration.

Through my work with Greenmade, I dedicate myself to educating the next generation about the importance of conservation and sustainable living. Whether it’s teaching students how to plant trees, create permaculture gardens, or protect our forests, my mission is to instill a lasting respect and love for the environment. To me, nature is not just something to admire but something to nurture and protect for the future.

Nature has always been a source of wonder and inspiration, and for me, the wild spaces hold a special resonance. They are not just vast expanses of untamed land but living ecosystems, full of beauty and mystery. What draws me to these spaces is the harmony that exists between the different species, each playing a vital role in maintaining the balance of life. The wild reminds me that we are part of a larger web of existence, where every creature, tree, and river has a story to tell.

In the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, this connection becomes even more profound. The Mara is more than just a protected area; it is a living, breathing symbol of Kenya’s rich natural heritage. From the breathtaking Great Migration to the quiet moments of observing a herd of elephants grazing, every inch of the Mara speaks to the intricate dance of life. What makes it special to me is the way it offers a sanctuary to some of the world’s most iconic wildlife, while also serving as a place of learning and inspiration for future generations.

As a conservationist and trainer of students, my work is deeply intertwined with nature. At Greenmade, we focus on educating young minds about the importance of conservation through hands-on experience. Whether it’s teaching students how to plant and care for tree seedlings or guiding them in the creation of permaculture gardens, my goal is to instill a deep love and respect for nature. By connecting students with the land and the creatures that inhabit it, I hope to foster a generation that understands the value of preserving our wild spaces.

In this way, my journey is not just about conserving nature but also about inspiring others to find their own connection with the wild. Through my work, I strive to create a ripp effect, where each student I teach becomes a guardian of the environment, ensuring that places like the Maasai Mara remain vibrant for generations to come.
